Blast Pulled In $2 Billion Before It Even Had a Chain. Now It's Switching the Chain Off Because It Can't Cover the Bills

Blast, the Ethereum layer 2 from Blur founder Pacman that attracted around $2 billion in deposits before its mainnet existed, says it will shut down because running the chain costs more than it earns. Users have until October 26 to withdraw through the normal interface. TVL is down to roughly $63-65 million, and the BLAST token fell about 47% on the news, leaving it around 98-99% below its peak.
